Yantian port area resumes to receive ETB-7 for heavy containers, Shekou port area (including SCT, CCT, MCT) resumes receiving ETA-5 for heavy containers.

On 1/27, 2022, the two major ports of Shenzhen Shekou and Yantian announced to adjust the gate time of container export heavy containers: Yantian port area will resume to receive ETB-7 for heavy containers, Shekou port area (including SCT, CCT, MCT) will resume receiving ETA-5 for heavy containers.

Under the normal situation of congestion in foreign ports, international shipping schedules are constantly delayed, and it is impossible to return to Chinese ports normally. Previously, many containers could not be loaded due to delays in the shipping schedule. However, the port faced the double pressure of the sharp reduction in shipping schedules and the export of goods during the CNY, and adjusted measures to avoid the blockage of the yard and ensure the production and operation of the port area. 

1. From 1/29, 2022, Yantian Port will resume to receive ETB-7 for heavy containers (within 7 days before the ship's expected berthing date) to enter the yard to meet the foreign trade import and export needs.

2. The export heavy container reservation quota will remain unchanged at 12,000 TEU per day. 

Shenzhen Shekou Port District has decided to receive ETA-5 for heavy containers entry from 1/29, 2022

Before and after the CNY, the yard of Yantian was nearly at full capacity, with the cooperation of many people were made good jobs in Covid-19 prevention and control and port production at the same time. Ensure smooth traffic flow and ensure stable and smooth supply chain.

Shenzhen

Seaport: With Lunar year approaching, the freight rates have decreased because many people want to sell spaces before the holidays. The terminal is full, and it is difficult to make appointments for returning containers. The shortage of containers and trucks, the vessel schedules are unstable, frequently changes in ETB, and many uncertain factors increase various risks and additional costs.

Airport: The space is tight before Lunar year; many flights are cancelled during the holidays.

Hong Kong

Seaport: There is shortage of containers and trucks before Lunar year.

Airport: Space to West coast of USA is getting tighter and the air freight rate for West Coast is getting higher too.

Shanghai

Seaport: Factories and truck drivers are on holiday this week. Recently, the weather in Shanghai often rains, and the waiting time in the warehouse has changed from 2-3 days to 5-6 days. Since mid-January, Shanghai has strictly investigated and strictly enforced illegal operations of dangerous goods, and Shanghai's dangerous goods warehouses have been full since January.

Airport: This week the space is very tight before Lunar new year holiday, there is no space. Pick-up after 1/22 was confirmed with the truck company each shipment. It is all private car services as the Lunar year approaches, the delivery fee is increasing every day. EY: Two flights on 1/23 and 1/26 were cancelled.

Xiamen

Many companies and truck drivers are off for Lunar year holidays this week. There is serious congestion at the terminal, and it is difficult to return containers, caused extra cost incurred.

Ningbo

With Lunar year approaching, most of the truck drivers are off for the holidays this week. There is a delay issue for departure time, caused the extra cost incurred. Besides, a serious situation happened of the containers was postpone and to be loaded by the next voyage from carriers.

Tianjin

The Covid-19 cases has repeatedly occurred in Tianjin, the situation is still not under controlled. The carrier COSCO has faced challenges of transferred cargo. The freight rate has decreased before the Chinese Lunar Year.

Dalian

Seaport: With Lunar year approaching, the space is a bit loose, and the freight rate is decreasing, but there is a shortage of containers issue. The vessel schedule is unstable, and it usually delayed by 3-6 days.

Qingdao

Almost all truck company started having Lunar year holidays from 1/24. The carrier COSCO US line, the first leg from Qingdao - Ningbo, has a continuous vessel change, and because of the holiday, the carrier is not sure whether it can be arranged to Ningbo. For other vessels, a 2 - 3 days delay becomes normal.

Vietnam

Seaport: With Lunar new year approaching, most of factories finished their last order, some factories need to clear customs on the lunar new year date because the vessel delay. The traffic jam is common in Vietnam, customers will try to avoid additional trucking fee. The freight rate decreased because carriers are trying to sell out the spaces before the holidays.

Airport: The congestion is same at airport; shippers need to be aware to arrange their cargo in time to avoid overnight waiting.

Thailand

Seaport: The vessels still delayed from POL around 7 days, the space is still tight.

Airport: Affected by Covid-19, the number of flights has been decreased and the schedule is unstable.
