Many goods are actually regulated by the Bureau of Standards, Inspection and Quarantine of the Ministry of Economic Affairs. When ordinary people or companies import goods, are they quite confused about whether the imported goods are controlled by the Bureau of Standards, Inspection and Quarantine?
If the goods are controlled products, what should the importer pay attention to when declaring? It is recommended to confirm the following two points before importing
1. How to know whether the imported goods belong to the goods controlled by the Bureau of Standards, Inspection and Quarantine of the Ministry of Economic Affairs?
Inquire whether the imported goods belong to the goods that should be inspected on the commodity inspection service webpage of the Bureau of Standards Inspection and Quarantine.
2. If the imported goods are subject to inspection, are there any conditions for exemption from applying for an import license?
The Bureau of Standards, Inspection and Quarantine has the scope of exemption from inspection for the following different conditions.
Type of goods
Import use
Import price and quantity
(Please refer to: Article 5 of the Measures for Exemption from Inspection of Commodities, Common Customs Exemption Codes and Conditions)
If the purpose of import is to import non-sale personal products, commercial samples, exhibits, or research and development test items, and the value and quantity of the goods specified in the sample are met, and if they are of the same specification and type, the obligor of the inspection shall apply for exemption from inspection within 6 months. Only one time is allowed. If you want to exempt the goods entered with the customs clearance code, please be careful not to repeatedly import the same specification and type of goods within 6 months. If there are duplicates, the Commodity Inspection Bureau will not release the customs clearance.
