Port of Singapore suspends receipt of containers containing hydrogen peroxide!
Port Singapore International (PSA) said more than 1,000 containers were destroyed after a fire at a container yard near Bangladesh's Chittagong port cost more than $100 million. The fire started in a container containing hydrogen peroxide before spreading to containers containing sulfur and other chemicals, causing multiple explosions.
The number of containers containing hydrogen peroxide (hydrogen peroxide) unloaded at the PSA terminal has increased significantly and has reached a peak. PSA needs to take immediate action to stop accepting containers of hydrogen peroxide until the stock level returns to the safe range.
Europe's largest port will face a strike! Port congestion has reached critical levels
Strikes in Europe are threatening already congested supply chains. Thousands of workers at German seaports, including the Hamburg Port, went on strike on Friday, further increasing the congestion at the ports, and talks will resume next Tuesday. According to Maersk's announcement, the ports of Bremerhaven, Rotterdam, Hamburg and Antwerp are facing continuous congestion and have even reached critical levels.
Belgian unions plan to hold a nationwide strike next Monday (June 20), demanding that the government protect and increase the purchasing power of workers as the cost of living continues to rise. Congestion at the major European port of Bremerhaven has reached critical levels, with supply chain congestion having a severe impact on yard density and waiting times at the ports of Bremerhaven and Hamburg. The strike could cause further disruptions in Germany and northern Europe. In terms of rail services, backlogs, delays and cancellations have had a major impact on both ports. Many trains are delayed or even cancelled. Congestion levels are also high in the Port of Rotterdam, with terminal yard density reaching critical levels resulting in reduced terminal productivity. The number of vessels waiting to berth outside German ports has increased to about 60, and the ports of Rotterdam and Antwerp have also been heavily congested.
