Follow the movie 【TENET】 to know more about offshore wind power

Offshore wind power generates more stable and efficient electricity than inshore wind power. Higher wind speeds are available offshore in daytime compared to on land, it matches the peak of consumer demand, and opposition to construction is usually much weaker. In addition, the economic scale of coastal cities is usually larger than to inland cities, so offshore wind power is a very good choice.

According to statistics from the International Energy Agency (IEA), offshore wind power currently accounts for only 0.3% of global power generation. However, experts predict that wind power generation is expected to grow 15 times in the next 20 years. An estimation by year 2025, the cost of offshore wind power can replace the expensive and high carbon emissions’ thermal power plants in Asia.

The cost per kilowatt-hour of power generation from traditional non-renewable energy sources from low to high, is 0.95 yuan (NTD) for nuclear power, 1.39 yuan for fossil coal, 3.91 yuan for gas, 2.6 yuan for onshore wind power, 5.6 to 8.4 yuan for solar photovoltaic power, and offshore wind power is 5.6 yuan. However, the cost of offshore wind power construction has fallen rapidly in recent years. Experts predict that the cost of offshore wind power in Asia will drop to 1.66 to 1.85 yuan per kilowatt-hour in year 2023.

Where is a better place to install offshore wind farms? Offshore wind farms need to be built in shallow waters (up to 60 meters deep) and far away from the shore. The average wind density and annual wind speed in coastal areas must meet certain standards. In order to get the abundant wind energy on the sea, the higher the wind, the better, so the height of the tower will develop into a higher and higher trend (over 110 meters). At the same time, the longer the fan blades, the better of the power generation. The length can reach 80 meters. As technology grows, offshore wind developers can build larger wind turbines that generate more electricity.

Asia will become the next rapidly growing market for offshore wind power

When offshore wind power moves from Europe to the world, China is the main pusher of offshore wind power installations in Asia, and Taiwan ranks second. The conditions for the development of wind power in Southeast Asian countries are the Philippines, Thailand, and Vietnam. Among them, Vietnam has considerable potential for offshore wind power construction.

Overcome the transportation challenges of oversized and overweight – Project cargo

The TGL team has more than 20 years of experience and knowledge in arranging oversized and overweight transportation.

TGL is managing the group of the large wind turbine parts in Asia, helped to arrange the transportation of the oversized hubs/gears combine with the wind blades to the inland cities of the United States. Except for the ocean transportation, TGL also helps to arrange for the land transportation, customs, operations, and insurance between two places. Oversized cargo requires special solutions. TGL team has the ability to plan and execute complex logistics projects, which include charter flights, oversized and overweight cargo, industrial package, multi-model transport design and site surveys. We use local and global resources to operate Project Cargo. Our team has its own offices in many coastal cities in China, Taiwan, Thailand, Vietnam and countries in Southeast Asia.  TGL can meet all requirements for Project Cargo.

TGL CAN HELP YOU!!
